Preschool Two-Year-Old Program
Two day (M/W or T/TH): Two years old by 8/31
In this program, classroom leaders provide a play experience for toddlers. It is an opportunity for parents to have time away while their children play and socialize in a safe, caring environment. Depending on the needs of the children and the class as a whole, parents or caregivers may be asked to help in the classroom on a rotating basis. Activities are developmentally appropriate for the age of the children.
All classes are organized to incorporate a variety of activities. The following schedule reflects a typical day at the preschool:
9:30 am Free-Play: Children select from a variety of self-directed activities.
9:45 am Circle Time: The children gather for prayer and welcome. The teacher introduces the theme and centers for the day.
10:00 am Centers: Children work in small groups as they engage in teacher-guided and self-directed activities.
11:00 am Playground
11:30 am Snack
11:45 am Creative Music & Movement: The class participates in Music & Movement activities including songs, fingerplays, gross motor skills, and fitness.
12:15 pm Storytime/Closing Circle: Time used to develop language and listening skills.
